Volunteer Manatee opens Virtual Warehouse

Volunteer Manatee has become the designated operator of the Neighbors to the Rescue program for Manatee County and is operating a Virtual Warehouse.
Neighbors to the Rescue is a program of the Volunteer Florida Foundation http://vfffund.org , with affilliated programs in Jacksonville and in Palm Beach.
The Virtual Warehouse is a web-based system that allows the community to help others in need by providing donations such as furniture, clothing, household items and even services. Donations are entered into the virtual warehouse and volunteers look for matches for these donations, which can be transferred directly from the donor to the person in need.
The Virtual Warehouse model debuted shortly after Hurricane Katrina and is now being used in several communities in Florida to respond to people impacted by disasters.
